Product Uses

Most springs are customer specific, designed for a particular function or use. Our primary customer base is industrial users who use springs in their own products such as light switches, clutches, valves, trampolines, garage door mechanisms etc. Almost all industries are potential spring users, even if only for maintenance of machinery etc. We do assist casual users also with one-off springs.

Although the automotive industry is a spring user, we do not make suspension springs (coil or leaf) or engine valve springs as these are very specialized, but we do make springs for manufacturers of car seats, hand brakes, actuation cables etc. and the automotive aftermarket.

Product Details

All three of the main spring types are made, namely, compression, tension and torsion. Wire forms are used as either clips or springs and can take almost any shape from simple to complex. Clips made from flat strip can also be made, depending on the size. A limited range of presswork can also be undertaken, plus use is made of sub-contractors for heat treatment, electro-plating, powder coating, electro-polishing etc.

Most springs are made from carbon spring steel or stainless spring steel, but phosphor bronze is also used, mainly for electrical applications. Our machines can manufacture springs from 0.2 mm diameter wire up to 12.5 mm diameter wire. Spring steel is purchased locally; stainless steel wire is imported by stockists and Phosphor bronze, whether wire or strip, is imported directly by ourselves, as is stainless steel strip.

We also specialize in Garage Door springs, whether torsion or tension for the domestic and industrial market. Springs are designed and made for Roller Shutter doors, tip up doors and Sectional doors, for both wood and metal construction.

We possess considerable professional and technical knowledge and expertise in the design and manufacture of all types of springs and can help customers to solve all spring design problems.
